Open shifts are shifts that show up on the calendar for a client, but do not yet have an assigned caregiver. They require a caregiver to take them before they happen so that the necessary care can be facilitated. To create an Open Shift create a shift like you normally would, but put the caregiver's name as being Open Shift. There are multiple functions that use these within the scheduling dashboard. Open Shifts appear as purple on the calendar and when clicked open a drop down menu with a variety of options. The first option, Assign Shift allows you to assign the shift to a caregiver. The buttons titled Get Recommendations allows the manager to include or exclude caregivers based on if they will have to work overtime to cover the shift. The Compat Scores only allows you to view the compatibility scores for each caregiver relative to the client with the open shift. The Proximity button allows you to view a map sowing the proximity of all caregivers to the client's location. Below this is an option to Notify Available Staff, which when clicked allows for to send out a notification about the open shift to all caregivers complete with the wage and fee information. The options to Edit Management Notes and Edit Caregiver Tasks allow the manager to add and edit notes regarding management and specific tasks for the caregiver. The option to delete the open shift is also available, however you must confirm that you want to delete it before doing so. Managers are also able to change the rewards available for the shift with the Manage Reward Points option. The View History allows you to view any edits or changes that have been made to the shift.
