Creating Open Shifts

Creating Open Shifts

Creating open shifts within the Scheduling Dashboard can be accomplished using the Utility Drawer functions of Create Open Shifts or in the Clients view of the Quick Shifts. The instructions for both tools can be found below.

1. To create a open shift, first navigate to the Scheduling Dashboard using either the quicklink on the main page or through Menu>Scheduling>Scheduling Dashboard.
2. Click the Utility Drawer icon on the right side. A menu will appear, select Create Open Shifts.

3. The open shift form will populate. Fill out the form with the proper information. In the Date and Time Settings, you can create consecutive and recurring shifts. This can make it easier to schedule multiple similar shifts at a time.
4. After you’ve filled out all sections, click Save. The shift(s) will now be created on the schedule.

5. You can also create an open shift using the Quick Shifts option. To do this you would select the Clients view in the Quick Shifts. Then in the Caregiver dropdown you will see the option for Open Shift. Select this option and fill out times and drag over to the dashboard.
